Members: Purcell Prusik Behaviour During Falls

Many rope technicians are familiar with the option of using the long tail of a set-of-fours as an adjustable positioning lanyard.  One very popular pre-configured system is the AZTEK kit which is built with components from Sterling Rope, CMC Rescue, and Rock Exotica.  The tail end of this kit is commonly referred to as the “edge travel-restraint system” and consists of a 6mm Purcell prusik attached to the 8mm host rope and a 7mm Mallion Rapide connected back to the operator’s harness.
