Highline Tension Calculator

You may use the calculator below to calculate the force on each anchor in a highline set up. You will need to input values for the span, sag as depicted in the image, as well as the weight of the load.

If your anchors are offset, you may like to use the Two Point Anchor Calculator or the Deviation Anchor Force Calculator.

Highline tension calculator

Two equal height anchor points, load mid-span, system in equilibrium. Please note that units have not been specified and are not required. The output units will be consistent with those of the inputs.
The horizontal distance between the two anchors.
The midspan vertical distance from a theoretical straight span line to the load.
The weight of the load.
The calculated diagonal length from the load to an anchor.
This is the theoretical force on each anchor.
The angle between the strands at the load in degrees. 180 = zero sag.
